The day Yayotse came to my school, it felt like light broke through the darkness in my life. For the first time, I saw hope and a future I could reach for. I went home determined and asked my mother to register me, knowing this was the opportunity I had been waiting for. Today, I no longer worry about my monthly menstrual needs, as Yayotse ensures I am cared for with dignity. Through the ‘Beauty with Brain’ (BwB) program, I have a mentor who guides me through adolescence with honesty and support. Her counsel has given me courage, understanding, and a safe space to grow.
Before joining Yayotse, football was just a game to me: run, kick, score, and that was it. But during the Bondey Sports Academy ‘Apply in Life’ session, I discovered it’s a school for life, teaching discipline, teamwork, resilience, and smart decision-making on and off the pitch. Now, every time I step onto the field, I’m not just playing; I’m preparing for life. Yayotse opened my eyes to lessons that will shape my future.
In our community, opportunities are scarce, so when Yayotse spoke of all they could offer, I was doubtful, until they said this work would be done, together with parents. They would bring their programs, and we would bring our commitment. Since then, I’ve played my part, and they’ve met me with support, guidance, and resources. Today, my children never miss school because I know their future is brighter when we all walk the journey side by side. Yayotse has shown me that it truly takes all of us to build the hope we dream of.
